One of our Encore member, Carolyn Kettle has lead a band of “angels” at Abbey Delray Senior Living last November 19. A crew of volunteer residents who call themselves Abbey’s Caring Angels for Nonprofits who wrapped 150 gifts and reinforced 300 bags delivered to families in need through CROS Ministries, a nonprofit organization based in Lake Worth, FL.

Kettle, who is 86 and had polio as a baby in 1937, “will not be deterred” from continuing to volunteer and help those who need it the most. Kettle works closely with Encore of Palm Beach Country to secure the volunteer opportunities that she brings to Abbey Delray. Encore is a non-profit whose mission is to provide work and volunteer opportunities to people aged 50+. Rosemary Nixon, 83, and Carolyn Kettle are quite the dynamic duo, but Nixon credits Kettle with incredible abilities to bring people together to get things done.
