We are Part of a National Movement

Across this country 10,000 people turn 65 every day and many of them are moving to Palm Beach County. Many want meaning and purpose in their lives, not to fully retire from engagement in life. Encore Palm Beach County is a Founding Member of the Encore Network, a coalition of encore leaders and organizations that provides resources, visibility and connections–strengthening members’ work to turn longer lives into an asset.

Encore.org is spearheading efforts to engage millions of people in later life as a vital source of talent to benefit society. Its ultimate goal is to create a better future for young people and future generations. While many see our aging society as a problem, we view it as a solution. Those in and beyond midlife represent a powerful source of talent with the accumulated skills, experience and wisdom to tackle some of society’s most urgent challenges. To learn more, go to www.encore.org.

Our Vision

Encore PBC offers mid-life adults the opportunity to use their life and work experience in new careers, paid and unpaid, to improve their communities.

How Will We Achieve This Vision?

  • By challenging conventional thinking about aging and advocating for a new view of older adults as vital, vigorous and vibrant with talent to meet the needs of our communities.

  • By contributing to a stronger economy by guiding over-50 adults to the resources that will help them create new careers, paid and unpaid, with non-profits, for-profit organizations, and as mentors for emerging entrepreneurs.

  • By collaborating with community partners to provide resources to the older person to help them continue contributing in meaningful social and economic engagement.

  • By encouraging local employers to develop pre-retirement programs to help employees transition to new careers and/or volunteer opportunities.

Encore PBC is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Donations to support the work of Encore PBC are tax deductible. Encore PBC is an organization solely managed by volunteers to connect those over 50 to work and volunteer opportunities.
